Purchase Ledger Clerk – Bury

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger to join our friendly team in Bury. As a Purchase Ledger, your role will be crucial in maintaining accurate financial records related to purchasing and supplier invoices. You will work closely with internal teams to process supplier invoices, reconcile accounts, and resolve any discrepancies that may arise.

We offer a competitive package, including a salary of £23,000 – £25,000 pro rata, based on your experience. You will work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with an immediate start. Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger for companies within the group and ensuring the speedy authorisation and accurate processing of invoices. You will also ensure that supplier payments are made according to agreed terms and liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies. Additionally, you will handle bank and supplier statement reconciliations, create and maintain supplier accounts, oversee month-end closing, and assist with annual audits.

Skills and experience required

You will need to have proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a Finance or Accounts Payable department. You must be highly organised and able to work accurately under pressure, with strong organisational and time management skills. You should also be proficient in using accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Lastly, you must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and strong attention to detail will be crucial to your success in this role.
