Are you someone who cares about data quality, enjoys getting into the detail, and wants to work closer to real trading and operational decisions?
We’re looking for a Trading & Operations Data Analyst to join our Trading & Risk function within a regulated UK fuel and energy trading environment.
This role is suitable for:
early-career analysts looking to build strong foundations, or
experienced data analysts who may not have worked in trading or energy before but bring strong core skills, curiosity, and the right attitude.
Full training will be provided in our systems, processes, and trading environment.
What you’ll be doing
Validating and reconciling trading and operational data
Supporting daily, weekly, and monthly trading and operational reporting
Ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and clearly explained
Maintaining documentation and audit trails
Identifying data issues and supporting process improvements
Working closely with Trading, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and IT
What matters most to us
Essential:
Strong analytical and numerical capability
Solid Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables; Power Query a plus)
A careful, methodical approach to working with data
Willingness to ask questions, learn, and adapt
Genuine interest in how trading and operations work
Experience we welcome (but don’t require):
Previous data analyst experience in any sector
Exposure to operations, finance, logistics, or regulated environments
Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or similar tools
Knowledge of energy, commodities, or trading (helpful, not essential)
A full UK driving license is preferred, as occasional travel between company sites may be required.
What we offer
£30,000–£35,000 salary depending on experience
Training and support tailored to your background
Exposure to real trading and operational data
A role where data accuracy genuinely matters
Clear development opportunities as the function grows
We’re more interested in how you think and how you work than whether you’ve done this exact role before. If you bring strong core skills, curiosity, and care about doing things properly, we’re happy to train you.
