Network Infrastructure Engineer
Sound Like You? If you take real pride in proper networking — not just supporting it — and you want the space to make a visible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a network-first engineer with CCNP-level skills who wants ownership — not tickets. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys switches, routing, VLANs, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and improving networks properly across multiple sites.
You’ll work closely with our Group Head of IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security and play a key role in standardising and maturing our network estate.
What You’ll Do
Audit and tidy network cabinets across all group sites
Replace unmanaged switches and standardise network setups
Own switching (Cisco/Ubiquiti) and routing (OSPF, VLANs, inter-VLAN)
Manage Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate — training provided if needed)
Improve Wi-Fi performance and site connectivity
Support Microsoft 365, Intune, VMware, Veeam
Work across multiple sites with genuine autonomy and trust
What You Need
CCNP (or CCNP-level experience)
Strong L2/L3 networking — VLANs, OSPF, STP, LACP
Solid Cisco experience (Catalyst or similar)
Firewall experience (Fortinet, Cisco, or equivalent)
Comfortable with cabinet work, patching, and physical installs
Full UK driving licence
The Setup
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
Location: Onsite — Bury, Greater Manchester
Travel: Required to Speedy (London) and Beesleys (Oldbury) — mileage covered / pool car available
Team: Reporting to Group Head of IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security, with support from Lee Redfern
Users: 400+ across multiple group sites
What “Great” Looks Like
Clean, consistent, accurate documentation
Issues identified early and resolved properly

Trusted ownership of the network stack
Pride in tidy networks and doing things the right way
