We're currently recruiting an experienced Commercial Fuel Pipefitter to work on commercial and industrial fuel tanks and pipework across the UK.
This is a hands-on installation role that involves fuel tank installations, decommissioning and reinstatement, dual-contained (bunded) pipework, and both above-ground and underground fuel systems. Day-to-day work includes manlid access, threaded pipe connections, and steel and plastic small-bore pipework.
Key Duties
Install, remove and reinstate commercial and industrial fuel tanks
Carry out fuel tank decommissioning and replacement
Install and maintain dual-contained / bunded pipework (steel and plastic)
Work with small-bore pipework (typically 22mm, 28mm and up to 54mm)
Carry out threaded pipework connections
Work mainly on above-ground fuel systems
Carry out underground fuel work, including:
Removing and reinstating manlids
Inspecting and reinstating pipe connections
Install fill lines, vent lines and fuel transfer pipework
Support generator fuel feed installations where required
Work safely on fuel sites in line with RAMS, permits and site procedures
Essential Requirements
Experience working on commercial or industrial fuel systems
Strong mechanical / pipefitting experience in steel pipework
Experience with small-bore pipework (22mm / 28mm / up to 54mm)
Experience working on dual-contained (bunded) pipework, 1”–3”, steel and plastic
Experience removing and reinstating manlids on underground fuel tanks
Underground fuel storage (UST) experience
Practical understanding of working around fuel, pumps, vents, fill lines and flammable liquids
Ability to read drawings and work to specification
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away when required
Desirable Experience
Commercial fuel tank installation experience
Fuel tank decommissioning or reinstatement
Experience with UPP, Durapipe or KPS systems
Generator fuel feed installations
Confined Space, SPA Petrol, IPAF or PASMA
Depot, terminal, tank farm or COMAH site experience
Training & Development
Training provided on UPP, Durapipe and KPS systems
Site-specific procedures and accreditations
Progression into more complex commercial, terminal and industrial fuel projects
